Auchmuty High School Glenrothes, Fife

First opened in 1957, Auchmuty School is the first school for secondary education in the Fife council area of Scotland.

Auchmuty School was extended during the 1970s, but the planning and construction of a completely new Auchmuty High School alongside the old school began in 2011 and was completed in 2013. New playing fields will be developed where the old school has been demolished.

Colt worked with the design team of the new Auchmuty High School and subsequently manufactured and installed a combined natural smoke and weathered day to day ventilation scheme.

Kameleon 5 natural casement ventilators were installed in the façade at low level for inlet, and Coltlite natural louvred ventilators were installed both for day to day ventilation and smoke extract in the event of a fire. The Coltlite ventilators are combined with Colt single and double bank Universal Louvre to provide effective weathered ventilation and screening.
