Colt has announced the availability of its Size 7 Low Noise Horizontal Concealed Caloris WRFTM unit. Complementing the existing Caloris range, this unit will efficiently heat and cool much larger spaces, such as open plan offices and shopping malls, with low noise and high efficiency.
Caloris Size 7 unit delivers 7.48 kW of cooling at an EER of 4.2 and an industry beating noise level of NR 36 (in a semi-reverberant room), yet measures just 339mm high. It contains a low 2.65kg charge of HFC refrigerant, hence is exempt from the "F" Gas regulation inspections, and is charged to an accuracy of 0.1g after pressure testing with helium which is more demanding than nitrogen.
"The Caloris range of units starts from 1.5kW and includes vertical cased or un-cased units," said Graham Hazell, senior consultant for Caloris. "Colt intends to extend the range as an ongoing development programme, which includes our high quality manufacturing process, at our UK base in Havant, Hampshire. We have already delivered three major orders of this new unit."

The Colt Caloris WRF system is a water based simultaneous heating and cooling solution using two un-insulated pipes as the distribution medium and boasts the unique combined features of:
- High efficiency, low noise, heat pump to heat pump technology
- Ability to interface with numerous forms of heat injection/ rejection including geothermal energy
- Passive energy techniques using the thermal reservoir of the building fabric, which reduces energy consumption
- Energy exchange between indoor areas reducing running costs
- Internal Units do not come under "F" gas regulations, nor is there any requirement for Refrigerant leak detection when required by BS EN 378.
