This seminar covers the history of smoke control, and the design parameters and principles
for single and multi-storey commercial, retail, industrial, residential and mixed use
buildings and underground car parks.

Car Park Ventilation
This seminar covers the requirement for the natural or mechanical ventilation of underground
car parks as required by Approved Documents B & F. It has been updated to include the recently
updated Part F and BS7346-7:2006. It also covers smoke clearance versus smoke control and
impulse ventilation versus traditional ductwork systems.
Smoke Ventilation using shafts
This seminar covers the requirement for smoke ventilation in multi-storey buildings as required
by Approved Document B and BS5588-5:2004. It has been updated to encompass recent research and
covers designs for mechanically assisted fire fighting and means-of-escape shaft systems, reviews
the significant space saving benefits of mechanical shafts when compared to natural, and also
covers mechanical shaft ventilation for extended travel distances in residential corridors.
