COLT INTERNATIONAL LTD WINS RAC COOLING INDUSTRY AWARD
Colt International Ltd picked up the 'Green End-User of the year' award for their hybrid solution regarding the Ramada Heathrow, hotel project. Colt's innovative solution involved combining Air Source and Ground Source heat pump technology with the state-of-the-art WRF indoor water source heat pump consoles.
Judges comments were:
"It's what we have been looking for - no one has engineered all this into a single package before."
The resulting project is a genuine first within the UK:
"The interface between the two technologies is seamless, the degree of control unmatched and the configuration unique."
RAC rewarded the best in the refrigeration and cooling sector at the Cooling Industry Awards 2009. Editor Andrew Gaved gave a compelling and uplifting welcome speech to the packed Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel, enthusing:
"We have the biggest set of awards in the RAC business, the Cooling Industry Awards, once again celebrating the industry's environmental progress. In this our first year at the Hilton, we have a record audience, which I think shows that there is something really worth celebrating in what this industry has done. We have more categories too, so there is even more reason to celebrate."
Colt International also scored double points on the night by picking up a 'highly recommended' award for the 'Environmental collaboration of the year'. This was for their unique partnership with Geothermal International on such projects such as Hatchcroft University (Ground Source and WRF) and Ramada Hotel (Ground Source, Air Source and WRF).
