ROYAL CLARENCE YARD, GOSPORT

Colt supplied this apartment building, part of the Royal Clarence Yard development in Gosport, with Coltlite LWT Natural Glazed Ventilators. Coltlite ventilators are designed to provide smoke clearance to the stairwells, whilst maximising natural daylight into the building.

The system was fitted with a discreet electric motor which was linked into the building management system and the fire alarm. In the event of a fire, the Coltlite ventilators would automatically open creating a chimney effect. This allows smoke to be quickly extracted thus creating clear escape routes for the occupants still within the building.
