As part of the Centenary Development of the Tate Gallery in London, the north-west quarter of the Tate's Millbank site was redeveloped to provide six new exhibition galleries on the ground floor, four new galleries on the main gallery floor, and five refurbished galleries.

Colt provided a Braat roof glazing system for both the new and the refurbished galleries to increase levels of natural light. Colt also provided structural glazing for the roof of the new building, suspended from a roof-mounted steel construction, and solar shading through the installation of hollow section aluminium fins.
The Centenary Development was project managed by Mace Limited, and was designed by Architects John Miller & Partners.
The consulting services engineers were the SVM Partnership.
