Daimler Chrysler was looking for an efficient and flexible climate control system for the refurbishment of their UK headquarters at Tongwell, Milton Keynes, that also had good environmental credentials.

Colt had provided four Caloris WRF units to Daimler Chrysler for a year long test and operation. Following this, Daimler Chrysler selected Caloris for its controllability, flexibility and energy saving capabilities.

The Luton Hoo Hotel

The Luton Hoo Hotel, Luton

The 5-star Luton Hoo Hotel can be seen when flying to or from Luton Airport, and is situated in 1,000 acres of parkland.

Colt provided two separate Caloris systems comprising 120 horizontal indoor units in various sizes, one for every room of the hotel, as well as five outdoor units.

In July 2007 Colt has won a third order for 14 Caloris units at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, following two previous orders in 2003 and 2004.

The client was pleased to place the order with Colt since he is fully satisfied that the original system is reliable and is low in maintenance. He says, "The system just works, all I have to do is to change the filters!"

Houten is world famous for its urban design and green credentials. Its council is strongly promoting ground source heat pump systems, and all developments must incorporate GSHPs.

This is a development of three office buildings in Den Bosch, developed by the De Groene Group, and built by Dura Vermeer. In each building Colt installed 12 indoor Caloris water source heat pump systems, as an ideal alternative to conventional air conditioning systems, and one outdoor unit. Fresh air supply with 90% heat recovery has also been provided.

Colt provided a Caloris system for this new building which was built by the Developer Eekhout.

Colt installed 27 Caloris water source heat pump units and two central outdoor air to water heat pump units. There are also three air handling units to supply fresh air, with a heat reclaim efficiency of more than 90%.

This company owns 40 shoe stores around the country and is exporting shoes all over the world. The building is also used to develop further trading partners.

Ziengs expressed a preference for the Caloris system thanks to the potential for individual heating and cooling and the low charge of refrigerant. The building itself is used as a buffer to store thermal energy.

Colt was asked to design a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. Colt-Caloris has now been installed in the offices, a glazed rooflight has been fitted in the atrium and the façade, and smoke control and natural ventilation systems have been integrated into the glazing.

The company required more space for expansion. Colt were approached to design an energy efficient air conditioning system for a new building, and provided fifteen Colt-Caloris units in all, three units to a large open plan office area and the remainder within separate offices.
