Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow
Energy efficient hospital climate control system with independent temperature control
In July 2007 Colt has won a third order for 14 Caloris units at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, following two previous orders in 2003 and 2004.
The client was pleased to place the order with Colt since he is fully satisfied that the original system is reliable and is low in maintenance. He says, "The system just works, all I have to do is to change the filters!"
Colt worked closely with the Contractor Intengis, who was also responsible for the design.
In the 2003 order, Colt was in contract with the M&E contractor GFM to provide an air conditioning system to a treatment room, laboratory, X -Ray room, offices and an open plan reception area. Each room required its own fully independent temperature control system. Fifteen Colt-Caloris units, ranging from 1 to 4 kW output, were installed into the ceiling void and connected to an external central heat pump via a water loop of an average temperature of 25°C.
