Alfred Denny Building, University of Sheffield

Colt provided a Caloris WRF system for the refurbishment of the Alfred Denny Building at the University of Sheffield, which comprises 73 Indoor units.

This project demonstrated very well the flexibility of the Caloris WRF system installation, since the building was occupied during the installation. Caloris indoor units can be installed progressively with each newly commissioned unit able to function independently of the others.

As a result, whilst the client had originally planned to install the units in three phases over two years, the installation was able to be completed in one summer period.

In addition, the flexibility of the Caloris WRF system made it possible to re-use existing onsite chiller and boiler services as energy sources, thereby removing the need for additional external heat pump units and saving costs.

Each office can select its own operation mode and temperature. Energy consumption is reduced as a result of the ability of the system to move energy around the building.
