Colt HOLLAND
Ziengs Shoes, Assen, Holland
This company owns 40 shoe stores around the country and is exporting shoes all over the world. The building is also used to develop further trading partners.
Ziengs expressed a preference for the Caloris system thanks to the potential for individual heating and cooling and the low charge of refrigerant. The building itself is used as a buffer to store thermal energy, since the pipework is embedded in the structure for greater thermal mass and hence efficiency.
A COLT CalorisNet BMS is used with a link to a Colt remote BMS at Colt Holland's HQ in Cuijk to provide full monitoring and on line assistance.
This building is not equipped with a buffer vessel. As all the pipework is fully embedded into the concrete slab, the building itself operates as a thermal storage.
As a result, monitoring of the system has shown, the central heat pumps are in use for less than 9 % full load which makes the system extremely cost efficient.
