EN 1634-1  "Testing of non-loadbearing construction elements"
EN 13501-2 "Fire classification of construction products and building elements"

Product Performance
Colt FM-1 Fire Curtain has been tested to EN 1634-1 and achieved an integrity rating of 60 or 120 minutes, E60-C or E120-C in accordance with EN 13501-2.

Technical Specification
The system comprises a heat resistant wire inserted satin weave glass-fibre fabric coloured light grey on a steel roller with integral tubular geared electric motor, gearbox and drive mechanism. Upper limit control by electronic current limiting. Decent by controlled gravity fall via a brake controlled using back-EMF generated from the motor circuit. Lower limit control by extent of fabric.
- Third party testing and certification in accordance with EN 1634-1 (Warrington Fire)
- Two fire classification options: E 60 or E 120 integrity
- Certified guide rod system for side guides
- Heat stabilized coating for the fabric, with a stainless steel inlay for the E 120 option. Both E 60 and E 120 fabrics achieve the building classification A2 S1 d0 to EN13501-2: 2007 ("Fire classification of construction products and building elements")
- Bottom bar with closure arrangement to ensure a tight seal even with uneven floors
- Expansion joints to allow for thermal movement incorporated into the design
- Removable access panel for headbox integral 24v DC drive assembly which maintains a steady rate of gravity failsafe fall (approx. 0.08 m/s)
- Two types of motor available (8 and 30 Nm overall torque)
- Simple controls to receive external fire signals and for testing
- Supplied in partly pre-assembled form for fast installation.

Controls
The fire curtain is capable of operation as an integrated part of the Smoke Control and Fire Management System, usually with emergency power units and the facility to interface directly an OPV addressable control panel (if supplied).

The system is fully protected and fail-safe to avoid the need for fire rated cabling, with 30 minute time delay to maintain units in the raised position in the event of a temporary interruption to the power supply. If power is not returned, units to power descend to down / default position after time delay.

Controls options:
- Simple control box with switches and an indication lamp.
- Smoke detector connected directly to this control box.
- A local control box to be connected to the central fire detection system with a voltage free contact.
- Battery back-up to retain the curtain in its retracted position for a set period if there is mains failure.
