General Description
Jetstream is an impulse jet fan designed for the ventilation of car parks, so as both to reduce carbon monoxide levels and to assist with the extraction of smoke in the event of a fire.
Impulse fans use tunnel ventilation technology to eliminate the need for costly and bulky ductwork. Compared to ductwork systems, this may save car-parking spaces, reduce running costs and noise, and make the car park a lighter, less cluttered environment.

Scheme Design
Each car park is different and Colt will provide a scheme design to suit the exact requirements of the project. Colt Car Park Ventilation Systems include one or more of the following elements:
- Natural inlet through the entrance/exit ramps/fixed ventilation louvres.
- Extract by a ducted system with dual fans discharging to atmosphere.
- Air distribution and mixing within the car park by a network of Cyclone Induction Fans or Jetstream Impulse Fans.
As part of a designed scheme involving detection, controls and extract units, Jetstream adds momentum to the air to thrust it towards an extract point.
In general, for day to day operation the control system monitors the carbon monoxide levels within the car park and once a set point has been reached the system increases the ventilation rates. Once a signal from the fire alarm has been received, ventilation rates are increased.
Versions- Three fan sizes, 400mm, 355mm and 315mm diameter, with thrusts of up to 50N, 30N and 20N, and overall depths of 427mm, 400mm and 335mm respectively
- Uni-directional and truly reversible
- Flanged and unflanged options
- Single speed suitable for inverter speed control / two speed (full and half speed).
- A wide range of silencer options
FinishesJetstream is supplied as standard in galvanised steel. Options include polyester powder light grey RAL 7035 or most other RAL colours.. CertificationJetstream and its standard isolator fully meet the F300 time/ temperature classifications of EN 12101-3 (300°C for 120 minutes). Test Certificates are available on request. Noise outputCIBSE Guide Volume A: 2006, Environmental Design, sets out a recommended maximum noise level of NR55 in car parks. Colt Jetstream units can achieve this at 3m from the unit in normal day to day operation. |
