A new extension was built during the refurbishment of the Castle Quay shopping centre, which then required refurbishment of the whole of the existing centre to bring it up to the same standard as the new building.
A Colt ducted mechanical extract system was installed to provide smoke control, comprising fans and Seefire ventilator terminations. Colt also provided Kameleon casement ventilators installed in the glazed roof. The bases of the ventilators had to be specially modified to fit into the unique shape of the rooflights.
The new extension was constructed by Bryant Construction Limited, and the Consultant was WSP.
