Coltlite - LWI

Description

Coltlite LWI natural louvred ventilator, suitable for natural day to day ventilation and smoke control, fitted with integral hidden controls. Tested to and in compliance with EN 12101-2 and CE marked. For installation in the vertical only.

Detailed Description

Thermally broken extruded aluminium outer frame, 80mm thick, with framed louvres set into thermally broken frames. Integrated, non-visible electric controls.

Dimensions / size range

From 250mm to 1800mm in width, and from 520mm to 3000mm in height as one module.

Frame

Thermally broken, 80mm deep. Glazing seals comprise double weather strips with a nylon lip between, and the horizontal glass edges of the louvres are enclosed with aluminium sections which have two overlapping weather seals for excellent air-tightness.

Louvres

  • 28mm overall clear toughened, float or laminated double glass (6-16-6).
  • 28mm overall insulated metal skin panel infill.

Visible width of horizontal louvre frame 44mm when looking from the outside.

Blade Pitch

150 - 350mm (depending on overall size of complete unit) with central pivot point. Blade frame to be a maximum of 44mm between glass surfaces.

Colours/ finishes options

  • Polyester powder paint to a RAL colour, standard 75 mu
  • Anodised, standard 20 mu

Fixing options

  • Fixing to curtain walling using 24 to 36mm thermally broken glazing frame adaptor
  • Fixing to structural opening using either through frame or strap fixings.

Controls options

  • 24 volt DC motor. Integrated, non-visible electric controls positioned within side frame and with a typical operation time of 15-30 seconds.
  • Optional device to reduce the speed and force of closing louvres, to reduce the risk of finger squeezing.

If used as a smoke ventilator, activation is either by local thermal fuse which opens the unit at a pre-selected temperature, or by responding to an external release signal

Performance

The following performance attributes follow tests to EN 12101-2:2003 (standard for smoke and heat exhaust ventilators) and EN 14351-1:2006 (standard for windows and doors). The exact performance attribute will depend on the chosen size, controls, and louvre type.
