Ellisse Sliding Shutter System
Ellisse is a louvred hinged or slideable solar shading panel system that offers architects and contractors a versatile and practical solution to managing solar radiation and aiding privacy, whilst adding a modern architectural aesthetic.
Ellisse provides protection from the heat and glare of the sun, whilst providing seclusion to people inside the building.
A wide range of louvre types are available, depending on the building’s functional needs and the aesthetic requirements of the architect.
Ellisse panels can be installed at virtually any orientation.
The supporting system
Ellisse can:
- Slide
- Hinge vertically
- Hinge horizontally
- Stay static
Where louvres and frames are operable, they are pivoted in UV-stable bushes and rollers. These are located in hollow aluminium extrusions and require little maintenance. The system is designed to compensate for thermal expansion.
The louvres and frames are operated either manually or by an electric actuator within a continuously sliding rail which is available in virtually any size. They can also be automated by a Colt sun tracking system.
A wide range of louvre types are available, depending on the building’s functional needs and the aesthetic requirements of the architect:
- Aluminium louvres are manufactured from extruded, corrosion-resistant aluminium profiles made of AlMgSi0.5 alloy either with an elliptical or a C-shape.
- Wooden louvres are manufactured from Western red cedar and can be either elliptical or oblong in shape.
- Louvres are available in glass, with the potential to incorporate photovoltaic (PV) electricity generating cells.
- Louvres are also available with perforated fabricated metal sheets.
The louvres inside the frames are able to be turned to a maximum of 85° by hand.
See the Ellisse shutters for windows specification page for further details.
