Colt Kameleon 4 glazed natural ventilator
Description
Kameleon 4 is a natural ventilator, available in a wide range of sizes, flap options and control options. It is particularly suited for installation into glazing systems in an unobtrusive way, and can provide both day to day and smoke ventilation. It is suited for application in any angle from 15° to 90º from the horizontal and is bottom hung. It has concealed, failsafe open controls. Kameleon 4 is manufactured to the ISO 9001 quality standard.
Materials
All principal components of the base and flap have been manufactured from aluminium extrusions to BS 1474 Grade 6063.
Panel types
(Select) Double skin aluminium with infill material / 6mm, 8mm or 10mm single glazed clear glass unit / 24mm, 28mm, 30mm or 32mm double glazed clear glass unit
NOTE - The permissible thickness of the panel infill or glazing depends upon whether the version has thermal breaks, what size the ventilator is and which type of controls have been selected. Colt will advise on this.
Thermal break options
(Select) Non- thermally broken base and flap (with single glazing only) / Thermally broken base and flap (with both single and double glazing).
Sizes
(Select) mm x mm overall body size. From outside frame to outside frame 900mm to 2000mm wide, 965mm to 1800mm high.
Controls
(Select) Pneumatic / 230 v ac electric / 24 v dc electric / One Per Vent addressable electronic controls. All controls fail safe open and are concealed.
Performance
The performance depends on the chosen ventilator configuration.
Coefficient Cv values: up to 0.68
Reliability: Accelerated life cycle tests in excess of 10,000 operations
Snow load: Kameleon 4 will open against a snow load of 300N/m²
Operating temperature: -20°C to +70°C (outside ambient)
Wind suction load: 3000 N and 18m/s side wind test
Fire Performance: Fail safe on detection of fire and tested to BS 7346: Part 1: 1990.
Air Permeability: Class 4 classification to EN 12207: 2000
Watertightness: Minimum classification of 9A to EN 12208: 2000
Insulation: Overall ventilator U-value up to 1.5 W/m²/K.
